I moved to Texas in 2010 to flee the harsh winters of the Chicago suburbs. I discovered photography six years later, focusing on wildlife. But after quickly photographing all the squirrels in Austin, I turned my camera to some other unique animals: humans. Now with my candid street photography, I record people going about their daily lives.
I like candid photography because of its honesty. Each moment actually happened—without the aid of makeup artists or lighting assistants—if only for a millisecond. It's the beauty (and sometimes humor) of ordinary life that keeps me exploring the streets.
